Will Smith and Joel
Edgerton are joining forces to star opposite each other in David Ayer's Bright,
a contemporary police thriller with fantastical elements written by Chronicle, American
Ultra, and Victor Frankenstein scribe Max Landis.
Bright is a spec script that follows an orc police
officer in a world where fairies and orcs live among humans. The project is
currently amidst a heated bidding war, why I'm not sure since Landis has been
writing nothing but flops ever since his big break, Chronicle.
Ayer is currently neck
deep in post-production on Suicide Squad, which also stars Smith and opens in
theaters on August 5.
