Warner Bros. has released a
new trailer for the upcoming The Legend of Tarzan. In this new telling of Edgar
Rice Burroughs's literary hero directed by Harry Potter helmer David Yates, John
Clayton III (Alexander Skarsgård) returns
to Africa with his wife Jane (Margot Robbie) to serve as a trade emissary of the
British Parliament, unaware that he is but a pawn in Captain Leon Rom (Christoph
Waltz) deadly game of revenge. But those behind the murderous plot have no idea
what they are about to unleash, Tarzan.
Set to open in theaters on July
1, The Legend of Tarzan also stars Samuel L. Jackson, Djimon Hounsou, John
Hurt, and Jim Broadbent.
It has been years since the
man once known as Tarzan (Skarsgård) left the jungles of Africa behind for a
gentrified life as John Clayton III, Lord Greystoke, with his beloved wife,
Jane (Robbie) at his side. Now, he has been invited back to the Congo to serve
as a trade emissary of Parliament, unaware that he is a pawn in a deadly
convergence of greed and revenge, masterminded by the Belgian, Captain Leon Rom
(Waltz). But those behind the murderous plot have no idea what they are about
to unleash.
