Marvel's second go at
establishing a superhero in the arena of streaming content was a resounding
success. Jessica Jones surpassed expectations by constructing around its titular
hero a believable and complex world with a good amount of well-drawn and
interesting characters, whom for fans of the original comics the series is based on,
tease potential storylines for the already confirmed second season.
One such character is
Rachael Taylor's Trish Walker, who fans know as the superhero Hellcat.
Speaking to Comic
Book Resources, Taylor confessed that although she would love to play the
superhero her character turns into, it is not something she is thinking right
now.
I try not to get
ahead of myself and think about it too much, because it’s easy to get carried
away and think about things. You don’t want to count your eggs before they
hatch, I guess, because we just found out about the second season today — and
this is my first show that’s gone to a second season, so I’m super stoked. I
already feel like I have more than my share, in a way, being on Netflix, being
in the Marvel Universe, being in this show that has resonated so deeply with
people. But of course, I mean, it would be amazing. I mean, it’s already a
privilege to play a history that has so much lineage within the Marvel
Universe. And to take it that one step further is something that, yeah, I’d love
to get my teeth stuck into whatever happens to the character.
While Hellcat's fate
seems intertwine with Jessica's, it wouldn't be out of the realm of
possibilities that she could in the future get either her own show, or a much
bigger role in the universe Marvel is building over at the streaming giant.
