Sony Pictures has released five new images for Paul Feig's (Bridesmaids)
Ghostbusters featuring the paranormal researcher Abby Yates (Melissa McCarthy), the nuclear engineer and munitions expert Jillian Holtzmann
(Kate McKinnon), the ghost tracker and municipal historian Patty Tolan (Leslie Jones), the particle physicist Erin Gilbert (Kristen Wiig), and Kevin the secretary (Chris Hemsworth).
In this new version of the
popular franchise, the four heroes will be forced to deal with the ghosts of
criminals from all eras of New York including "pilgrims, old-timey sailors, Revolutionary War
spirits, and even a couple of zoot-suited gangsters."
Also starring Andy Garcia, Michael K. Williams, Matt Walsh, and Cecily Strong, Ghostbusters opens on July 15, 2016.
