It would seem that the rumors about Warner Bros.
nervousness over the success Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice could potentially
cost Zack Snyder his position as director for the Justice League movies may
have been awfully exaggerated, which is not to say that the studio isn't anxious,
I mean Batman v Superman is the kick off to their shared universe, as well as a big investment.
Speaking to Entertainment Weekly, Snyder shook
off those concerns and announced that Justice League - Part 1 will begin
filming on April 11, just a couple of weeks after Batman v Superman opens in
theaters.
"The idea that we could begin to boot up
a Justice League concept was a cool thing," he said. "It
was a little bit of an ‘about time’ moment, and I don’t blame [the studio] for
feeling that way, because it’s a long time coming. But I do feel like it’s a
little bit of a creative hurdle. It seems like an easy thing to do at first
glance, the idea that, ‘Oh, we just get the rest of the superheroes in there.’ But
you have to [establish] a world where they can exist."
Production will primarily take place at Warner
Bros. Leavesden Studios in England, and various other locations around London
and Iceland. Snyder is already in the U.K. prepping the movie.
Opening on November 17, 2017, Justice League -
Part 1 stars Henry Cavill, Ben Affleck, Gal Gadot, Ezra Miller, Ray Fisher, and
Jason Momoa.
