Last year Sony Pictures released their slate of films
for 2016 and beyond. Among the movies announced was Bad Boys 3, and Bad Boys 4,
because why wait to see if there is audience for a modest 21-year-old franchise
(Terminator Genisys)
Since the announcement very little was heard of the
project, with the exception of a couple of small statements from Martin
Lawrence and Will Smith, who will reprise their Marcus Burnett and Mike Lowry roles,
respectively, from the first two movies, and talks of director Joe Carnahan (Smokin'
Aces, The Grey) being in negotiations to helm the project, until now!
Apparently, Carnahan has signed the dotted line and is
already showing what he has planned for the upcoming movie.

Bad Boys 3 opens in theaters on February 17, 2017, followed by Bad Boys 4
on July 3, 2019.
