Amber Midthunder (Banshee) has joined the cast of FX's Legion, where she will star opposite Dan Stevens, Aubrey Plaza, Jean Smart,
Rachel Keller, and Jeremie Harris.
The series follows David Haller (Dan Stevens) a
troubled young man who may be more than human. Since he was a teenager, David
has struggled with mental illness. Diagnosed as schizophrenic, David has been
in and out of psychiatric hospitals for years. But after a strange encounter
with a fellow patient, he’s confronted with the possibility that the voices he
hears and the visions he sees might be real.
Midhunter will play Kerry, "a woman of action with a childlike sense of wonder. A true
savant, Kerry has lived a sheltered, but never dull life."
Not set in
the X-Men movie universe, but in a parallel one were the U.S. Government is just becoming aware of mutants, Legion will be executive produced by Noah Hawley (Fargo, Bones),
who will also write the pilot, Lauren Shuler Donner (X-Men: Days of Future Past),
Bryan Singer (X-Men), Simon Kinberg (The Martian), Jeph Loeb (Marvel’s Agents
of S.H.I.E.L.D.), Jim Chory (Marvel’s Daredevil) and John Cameron (The Big
Lebowski).
