Marvel takes us inside the Sanctum Sanctorum with this new piece of concept
art from Sinister helmer Scott Derrickson first superhero movie, Doctor
Strange.
Located in New York's Greenwich Village, the Sanctum Sanctorum is Doctor
Strange's (Benedict Cumberbatch) house and vault of sorts for various mystical artifacts.
The townhouse itself became the focal point of supernatural energies due to
having been built over a site used for "pagan sacrifices and arcane
American Indian rituals, dating back-untold generations." The maze-like house
is larger on the inside than the outside would suggest, and the arrangement of
rooms, corridors, and furniture is constantly changing. The house is protected
by a powerful and intricate spell that wards off unwanted visitors.
Opening on November 4, 2016 Doctor Strange also stars Tilda Swinton as The
Ancient One, Rachel McAdams
as Night Nurse, Chiwetel Ejiofor as Baron
Mordo, Michael Stuhlbarg as Nicodemus West, Mads Mikkelsen as the yet unknown
but confirmed main villain, and Amy Landecker.
