Although Heroes Reborn was
always meant to be a one-season miniseries, some questioned if we would eventually
see more of these characters depending on the series success. Well question no
more. Today at the Television Critics Association Winter Press Tour, NBC
chairman Bob Greenblatt announced that Heroes Reborn is done.
Yeah, I think that
was always the plan, unless Tim woke up one day and said, "I have another
chapter to tell." But I think we’re coming to the end…of the world. Stay
tuned.
It's worth pointing
out that True Detective was also planned as a one-season
miniseries, and once the ratings started to come in, was quickly renewed for a
second season. Heroes Reborn however never quite achieve the numbers some were
probably hoping it would, which I'm assuming must have been a key factor in
deciding whether to pursuit a new season or not.
But there was still some hope. Last year Tim Kring,
the creator of both the original show and Reborn, teased that he had several
different incarnation for further seasons, but Greenblatt was quick to dismiss
Kring's statement.
Said that to who? He didn’t say that to me. As far as
I know there are no more incarnations of Heroes coming.
Heroes Reborn concludes January 21 with the episode
Project Reborn.
