After extensive negotiations,
Fox has reached a deal to develop Rambo: New Blood, a TV series based on the
hit movie franchise starring Sylvester Stallone, who will executive produce it.
It's unclear if Sly will
reprise his role or not in the series, which is said to be about Rambo and his
son. Some sources claim that he will return to play the soldier suffering from
PTSD, while others say he won't appear in the series at all.
Die Hard and The Fugitive scribe
Jeb Stuart will write the show for Entertainment One and Avi Lerner's
Millennium Films.
Rambo: New Blood will pay
homage to the film franchise, while exploring the "complex relationship
between Rambo and his son, J.R., an ex-Navy SEAL." The son is a new
character to the franchise, and a waypoint to the series.
This isn't the first time that
a Rambo TV show has been on the news. Back in 2013, Nu Image, Millennium Films,
and eOne tried to develop a show, which clearly never happened.
