The Academy of Motion Pictures Arts and Sciences have
announced the ten remaining films in the run to get a best Visual Effect
nomination for the upcoming 88th Academy Awards.
Of the ten candidates, only five will move on and get
nominations, and there is a strong possibility that Disney with its four movies
may end up dominating the category.
“Ant-Man”
“Avengers: Age of Ultron”
“Ex Machina”
“Jurassic World”
“Mad Max: Fury Road”
“The Martian”
“The Revenant”
“Star Wars: The Force Awakens”
“Tomorrowland”
“The Walk”
Previously in the race were Bridge of Spies, Chappie,
Everest, Furious Seven, The Hunger Games: Mockingjay - Part 2, In the Heart of
the Sea, Jupiter Ascending, Mission: Impossible - Rogue Nation, Spectre, and
Terminator Genisys.
The 88th Academy Awards ceremony will be held on
Sunday, February 28, 2016.
