After Macbeth, director Justin Kurzel and stars Michael Fassbender and Marion
Cotillard reteam for the sci-fi action movie inspired by Ubisoft's popular
video game franchise, Assassin's Creed.
20th Century Fox has released a couple of new images from the upcoming
movie, which stars Fassbender as Callum Lynch, who through a revolutionary
technology unlocks his genetic memories, and experiences the adventures of his
ancestor, Aguilar, a 15th century assassin.
Opening on December 21, 2016, Assassin's Creed also stars Jeremy Irons,
Brendan Gleeson, Michael K. Williams, and Ariane Labed.
Adam Arkapow, whose previous works includes Kurzel's adaptation of William Shakespeare iconic play, and the first season of True Detective, is also on board for the video game inspired movie.
Through a revolutionary technology that unlocks his genetic memories,
Callum Lynch (Michael Fassbender) experiences the adventures of his ancestor,
Aguilar, in 15th Century Spain. Callum discovers he is descended from a
mysterious secret society, the Assassins, and amasses incredible knowledge and
skills to take on the oppressive and powerful Templar organization in the
present day.
