For X-Men:
Apocalypse, co-writer and producer Simon Kinberg promises something big, an
"extinction-level event" provided by Apocalypse played by Oscar
Isaac, however, the ancient mutant doesn't work alone. To spread mayhem and destruction, Apocalypse will, after waking up in 1983, assemble a team of powerful mutants,
which include Psylocke (Olivia Munn), Storm (Alexandra Shipp), Angel (Ben Hardy),
and Magneto (Michael Fassbender), which he nicknames the Four Horseman.
"One of
Apocalypse’s many powers is he can imbue other mutants with greater ones,"
revealed Bryan Singer to Entertainment Weekly. "Magneto is demonstrating a
small taste of what he can do now. Magneto is already enormously powerful…. Now
Apocalypse gives him powers far beyond what we’ve seen before."
In X-Men: Days of
Future Past, Magneto managed to pull an entire baseball stadium out of the
ground and levitate it over the white house, so while the piece of concept art
below doesn't clearly show that his abilities have increased, the idea that he
will become more powerful is very exciting.
Opening on May 27, 2016,
X-Men: Apocalypse also stars James McAvoy, Jennifer Lawrence, Nicholas
Hoult, Tye Sheridan, Sophie Turner, Evan Peters, Lucas Till, Rose Byrne, Lana Candor, Kodi Smit-McPhee, Josh
Helman, and Tómas Lemarquis.
