Warner Bros. and MGM have finally began to unstuck the
Tomb Raider reboot from the development hell swamp it was in. According to The
Hollywood Reporter, Norwegian filmmaker Roar Uthaug (The Wave) has been brought
onboard to help re-launch the franchise with a brand new cast.
Geneva Robertson-Dworet, who recently co-wrote Transformers
5 and penned the Black List script Hibernation, has entered negotiations to
write the script for Uthaug.
Plot details have been hidden in some mysterious ruin
located in some exotic location, but the game franchise in which the movie will
based on was successfully rebooted recently, so it wouldn't be out of the realm
of possibilities for it to become the basis for the new movie.
