With X-Men: Apocalypse hitting theaters next year a
report published on the Journal De Montreal claims that Fox and director Bryan
Singer are planning to return to Canada to start filming the yet untitled X-Men
follow-up. According to the site, Michel Trudel of Mel's Studios in Montreal
told them that he and Fox met recently and inked a deal that sees the children
of the atom as well as Singer returning to the country in early 2017 to film
the seventh installment in the X-Men franchise.
According to Trudel, "our facilities, our technicians and they
appreciate the fact that our studios are located five minutes from downtown and
15 minutes from the airport. Bryan Singer (director of films) also like
the city. It feels good to Montreal."
No further details were given but the report suggest
that the studio is aiming to release the movie in the summer of 2018
