Trailer For Colin Hanks Tower Records Documentary All Things Must Pass


The first trailer for Colin Hanks documentary about Tower Records has been released online. The film premiered at SXSW to mostly positive reviews, and will officially open on October 16.

While everyone blames the Internet on the surface, In All Things Must Pass Hanks goes on a journey to uncover the real reason behind the downfall of the music retail empire. "In 1999, Tower Records made $1 billion. In 2006, the company filed for bankruptcy." To find out what happened, Hanks speaks with those connected to the retailer like Dave Grohl, Bruce Springsteen, Elton John, and Tower Records founder himself, Russ Solomon.

All Things Must Pass is Hanks' second documentary followed by the doc short The Anti-Mascot.

From humble beginnings in a small-town drugstore, Tower Records eventually became the heart and soul of the music world, and a powerful force in the music industry.
