It looks like DC's Legends of
Tomorrow will have two winged superheroes fighting crime on a regular basis.
According to an interview to DC Legends TV, executive producer Phil Klemmer
confirmed that Falk Hentschel's
Hawkman was given a regular spot alongside his eternal love Hawkgirl, played
by Ciara Renée, on The CW's upcoming Arrow and Flash spinoff series.
However, Klemmer
reassures that Hawkman becoming a regular will not take anything away from Hawkgirl.
"The way we’ve imagined them is that they’ve obviously been reincarnated
through the ages together, but the fact that he remembers their previous lives
and she doesn’t… it gives them very much like a Bogey and Bacall sort of
[relationship]."
Finally, the
executive producer confirms that the dynamic between the two characters will be
inspired by Geoff Johns' Justice Society of America and Hawkman comics.
"They’re
constantly fighting, and the fact that they’re destined to be in love is
something that seems impossible to her."
DC's Legends of Tomorrow will
premiere sometime in 2016.
