After successfully
transitioning from the world of TV sitcom to the universe of action blockbusters
as S.H.I.E.L.D. Agent Maria Hill in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Cobie
Smulders is in talks to join another one. According to The Wrap, Smulders is in
early talks to star opposite Tom Cruise in Ed Zwick's Jack Reacher sequel.
Details on the
character are being kept under wraps, but according to the site, Smulders is up
for a character named Danika.
The Jack Reacher sequel is based on author Lee Child's
Never Go Back book from the Reacher series, and sees Cruise's titular character
returning to his military base in Virgina, only to see that his commanding
officer has been arrested.
Production is
expected to commence in November for a release in late 2016.
