Pixar has released new trailer for Peter Sohn's
(Partly Cloudy) upcoming animation, The Good Dinosaur. Set in an alternate
universe where the meteor that wiped out the dinosaurs missed Earth entirely, The
Good Dinosaur tells the story of an Apatosaurus named Arlo voiced by Raymond Ochoa (Monsters University) who sets out on a remarkable journey with an
unlikely companion, a human boy.
Pixar describes The Good Dinosaur as "an extraordinary journey of self-discovery full of thrilling adventure,
hilarious characters and poignant heart," but all my hard, cold heart
feels is some confusion as to why the studio and director opted for this quasi-realistic
landscape to be inhabited by such cartoonish looking creatures.
Opening on November 25, The Good Dinosaur also features
the voices of Jeffrey Wright, Steve Zahn, A.J. Buckley, Anna Paquin, Sam
Elliot, Frances McDormand, Marcus Scribner, and Jack Bright.
“The Good Dinosaur” asks the generations-old question: What if the asteroid
that forever changed life on Earth missed the planet completely and giant
dinosaurs never became extinct? In theaters November 25, 2015, the film is a
humorous and exciting original story about Arlo, a lively Apatosaurus with a
big heart. After a traumatic event unsettles Arlo’s family, he sets out on a
remarkable journey, gaining an unlikely companion along the way – a human boy.
