According to multiple
sources close to the project, Award Winning actor Benicio Del Toro was offered
the lead antagonist role in Rian Johnson's Star Wars: Episode VIII film. Furthermore,
it seems that Del Toro's role is the same one Joaquin Phoenix met with the
studio for but opted to pass.
We still don't know
who will transition from J.J. Abrams' The Force Awakens to Johnson's Episode
VIII, but at this time John Boyega, Daisy Ridley, Oscar Isaac, Adam Driver, and
perhaps Andy Serkis seem like a good bet.
