Following the
premiere of Bruce Timm's Justice League: Gods and Monsters at this year's San
Diego Comic-Con, DC Entertainment announced that next is an adaptation of
Batman: The Killing Joke.
The polarizing
graphic novel written by Alan Moore and with art by Brian Bolland, sees Joker
escaping Arkham, and permanently paralyzing Barbara Gordon in order to
terrorize her father, Commissioner Jim Gordon.
Mark Hamill was at
one point campaigning for the film to get made, saying that he would reprise
his Joker role if the project moved forward. No word on whether Hamill is
attached to the animated film or not.
Other animated films
announced for 2016 were Batman: Bad Blood, and Justice League vs Titans.
