Yesterday it came to
our attention that Warner Bros.' plans for their 2020 Green Lantern movie could
include the introduction of more than one Human Lantern, specifically Green
Lanterns John Stewart, Hal Jordan and Guy Gardner.
Now the Latino Review
reports that Chris Pine is "closing in on the role of Hal Jordan",
which makes more sense than the previous DC role the actor was rumored to be up
for. Pine was previously rumored to be circling the role of Steve Trevor,
Wonder Woman's love interest, which would be fine if not for the fact that
Trevor is a secondary character, and having Pine, who headlines franchises such
as Star Trek, playing a supportive role in a DC movie seemed strange.
As for the John
Stewart role, we know that Tyrese Gibson was interested in playing the
character, and chances are he might just get it thanks Furious 7, which quite surprisingly
grossed $1.5+ billion worldwide.
