Just days after
officially wrapping things up, Lionsgate has released the first trailer for
Francis Lawrence's final entry in The Hunger Games franchise, Mockingjay - Part
2.
This last installment
in the profitable young adult franchise will see Katniss (Jennifer Lawrence)
and a group of her closest friends, including Gale (Liam Hemsworth), Finnick
(Sam Claflin), and Peeta (Josh Hutcherson) go on one last mission to
rescue Panem from an increasingly deranged and dangerous President Snow (Donald
Sutherland).
Opening on November
20th the star studded cast for The Hunger Games: Mockingjay - Part 2 also includes Woody
Harrelson, Elizabeth Banks, Philip Seymour Hoffman, Jeffrey
Wright, Willow Shields, Jena Malone, Stanley
Tucci, Julianne Moore, Elden Henson, Gwendoline Christie, Robert Knepper, Natalie
Dormer, Michelle Forbes, Toby Jones, and Mahershala Ali.
With the nation of Panem in a
full scale war, Katniss confronts President Snow (Donald Sutherland) in the
final showdown. Teamed with a group of her closest friends – including Gale
(Liam Hemsworth), Finnick (Sam Claflin), and Peeta (Josh Hutcherson) – Katniss
goes off on a mission with the unit from District 13 as they risk their lives
to stage an assassination attempt on President Snow who has become increasingly
obsessed with destroying her. The mortal traps, enemies, and moral
choices that await Katniss will challenge her more than any arena she faced in The Hunger Games.
