
If the Uncharted big
screen adaptation is on a dinghy with only one paddle, then Assassin's Creed is
on a Galleon sailing its way across the seven seas.
With Justin Kurzel
reuniting with his Macbeth stars Michael Fassbender, and Marion Cotillard for
the upcoming live-action adaption of Ubisoft's extremely popular Assassin's
Creed videogame, Deadline reports that French actress Ariane Labed has joined
the project, and is taking on the unknown role Alicia Vikander couldn't
schedule in.
Assassin's Creed will
Labed highest profile role yet, but her filmography includes award winning
performances in Attenberg, Alpeis, and Fidelio, l'odyssée d'Alice, as well as
roles in Before Midnight, Magic Men, The Forbidden Room, and The Lobster.
Production is
scheduled to begin this Fall for a December 21, 2016 release.
