Actress Sela Ward (CSI: NY, House, Gone Girl) has joined the cast of Roland
Emmerich's upcoming Independence Day as the President of the United States,
President Lanford.
The actress and the director previously worked together on the disaster
flick, The Day After Tomorrow.
Independence Day 2 is set to open on June 24, 2016, and will count with the
return of Judd
Hirsch, Bill Pullman, Vivica
A. Fox, Jeff Goldblum to the franchise, as well as the addition of Jessie
Usher, Liam Hemsworth, and Maika Monroe.
