Mimi Rogers (Mad
Men, Wilfred, X-Files, Lost in Space) has joined the cast of Starz upcoming
10-episode Ash vs. Evil Dead series.
Rogers will play Suzy
Maxwell, "a woman who is reunited with her
family and several uninvited guests after a freak accident. Suzy is the mother
of Kelly (series regular Dana DeLorenzo), a
moody wild child trying to outrun her past."
The actress joins Bruce Campbell, who will reprise his as Ash, the stock boy, aging lothario and chainsaw-handed monster hunter
who has spent the last 30 years avoiding responsibility, maturity and the
terrors of the Evil Dead, until a Deadite plague threatens to destroy all of
mankind, and he is finally forced to face his demons –personal and
literal. Destiny, it turns out, has no plans to release the unlikely hero
from its “Evil” grip.
Also in the series are Lucy Lawless as Ruby a mysterious figure who
believes Ash is the cause of the Evil outbreaks, Jill Marie Jones as
Amanda Fisher, a disgraced Michigan State Trooper set to find our anti-hero Ash
and prove his responsibility in the grisly murder of her partner, Ray Santiago as
Pablo Simon Bolivar, an idealistic immigrant who becomes Ash’s loyal sidekick,
and Dana DeLorenzo as Kelly Maxwell, the
moody wild child trying to outrun her past.
Scheduled to debut in the Fall of 2015, Ash vs. Evil Dead is produced by Bruce
Campbell, Rob Tapert, Sam Raimi, as well as showrunner Craig DiGregorio (Workaholics).
