"Disaster flicks are for
the most part always fun to watch, and director Brad Peyton's
upcoming San Andreas starring Dwayne Johnson doesn't seem like it will
disappoint," was what I said a couple of weeks ago. Now, after the horrible
tragedy that hit Nepal where thousands of people have lost their lives, and
with the film release date scheduled for the end of the month, I wonder if audiences
will look at the film as tacky, or not.
San Andreas stars Dwayne Johnson as helicopter rescuer named Ray, who must save
his ex-wife Emma (Carla Gugino) and daughter Blake (Alexandra Daddario) after a
gigantic earthquake strikes Los Angeles, and natural calamities ensue.
Opening on May 29, 2015 San
Andreas also stars Colton Haynes, Ioan Gruffudd, Kylie Minogue, Will Yun Lee,
Archie Panjabi, and Art Parkinson.
After the infamous San Andreas
Fault finally gives, triggering a magnitude 9 earthquake in California, a
search and rescue helicopter pilot (Dwayne Johnson) and his estranged wife make
their way together from Los Angeles to San Francisco to save their only
daughter.
But their treacherous journey
north is only the beginning. And when they think the worst may be over…it’s
just getting started.
