It seems that Warner Bros. and
director David Yates have narrowed down their list for the two female leads in
J.K. Rowling's upcoming Harry Potter spinoff, Fantastic Beasts and Where To
Find Them.
According to The Wrap, Saoirse
Ronan (Atonement, The Grand Budapest Hotel), Dakota Fanning (I Am Sam, Night
Moves), Lili Simmons (Banshee, True Detective), and Alison Sudol (Dig,
Transparent) are being eyed to play Quennie, while Kate Upton (The Other Woman),
Katherine Waterson (Boardwalk Empire, Inherent Vice), and Elizabeth Debicki (The
Great Gatsby, Macbeth) are being looked at to plat Tina, Quennie's older
sister.
Without knowing, what both
roles entail it's difficult to guess whom would be better for the role, but
whoever lands them will star opposite Eddie Redmaine as Newt Scamander.
Rowling made her feature
film screenwriting debut with Fantastic Beasts and Where To Find Them, which is set in New
York roughly seven decades before the events of Harry Potter, and follow Newt Scamander, a “magiczoologist”
who is an expert in magical creatures, and who wrote the Hogwarts textbook
named Fantastic Beasts and Where To Find Them.
Fantastic Beasts and Where To
Find Them is expected to be a new franchise set in the wizarding world of Harry
Potter, with the first film scheduled to premiere on November 18, 2016.
