CBS has given the Greg Berlanti, Ali Adler, Sarach Chechter, and Andrew
Kresiberg executive produced adaptation of DC Comics Supergirl a full season
order.
The CBS pilot centers on a 24-year-old Kara Zor-El, aka Supergirl (Melissa Benoist),
who after escaping Krypton and finding a home here on Earth with the Danvers
family, must use her powers for the benefit of all humankind.
Supergirl also stars Calista Flockhart (Cat Grant), David Harewood (Hank
Henshaw), Mehcad Brooks (Jimmy Olsen), Chyler Leigh (Alex Danvers), Melina
Weissman (young Kara), Jeremy Jordan (Toyman), Laura Benanti (Alura Zor-El),
Faran Tahir (The Commander), Owain Yeoman (Vartox), and former Supergirl and
Superman Helen Slater, and Dean Cain in unspecified roles.
