Warner Bros. has released the
first trailer for writer/director Scoot Cooper's (Crazy Heart, Out of the
Furnace) upcoming biopic about the notorious crime boss and FBI informant James
Joseph "Whitey" Bulger Jr. (Johnny Depp), Black Mass.
It looks good, but because we
haven't seen a crazy free Johnny Depp performance in awhile, I was slightly
taken out of the trailer, which is weird i know.
Opening on September 18, Black
Mass also star Dakota Johnson, Benedict
Cumberbatch, Joel Edgerton, Juno Temple, Corey
Stoll, Kevin Bacon, Adam Scott, Jesse
Plemons, Peter Sarsgaard, and Julianne Nicholson.
BLACK MASS tells the true story of Whitey Bulger, the brother of a state
senator and the most infamous violent criminal in the history of South Boston,
who became an FBI informant to take down a Mafia family invading his
turf. However, after the Feds closed in on their targets, they double
crossed Bulger and ultimately prosecuted him, along with his partner in crime
and the original FBI agent working with him.
