Academy Award winning actor and acclaimed rapper has joined writer/director
David Ayer's upcoming adaptation of DC Comics Suicide Squad in an unidentified
role, which most likely won't be of Green Lantern John Stewart, a role the
actor was previously in the run for in the defunct Justice League film.
The actor, who recently won an
Oscar with John Legend for writing the song Glory for Selma, joins Margot Robbie, Will Smith, Jared Leto, Jai Courtney,
Cara Delevingne, Joel Kinnaman, Viola Davis, Scott Eastwood, Jay Hernandez, Adewale
Akinnuoye-Agbaje, Karen Fukuhara, Adam Beach, Jim Parrack, and Ike Barinholtz.
Suicide Squad opens on August 5, 2016.
