Deadpool's first
live-action incarnation struck a nerve in most fans. The poor decision of sewing
his mouth shut, and give him powers beyond those of the comics didn't sit well
and both Ryan Reynolds, and everyone involved with the upcoming standalone film
knows, so that's why director Tim Miller, screenwriters Rhett Reese and Paul
Wernick, and Reynolds himself have been extra careful with the tough and long
development.
In a recent interview
with Shortlist, Reynolds was asked how he felt about having Fox giving the go
ahead to Deadpool.
I’m incredibly happy
about it – we’ve got a director that understands that world, and writers
with a slavish devotion to the canon of that character. That’s the most
important aspect: it’s made in a way the most critical of fanboys could
embrace. Well, that’s the hope.
Besides Reynolds in
the leading role, the February 12, 2016 release also counts with Morena
Baccarin, T.J. Miller, Gina Carano, and Ed Skrein.
