As much as I loved the teaser for J.J. Abrams Star
Wars: The Force Awakens, I felt like a little of Han Solo, Princess Leia, or
Luke Skywalker could have gone a long away. In insight it was probably for the
best not showing the original cast and instead focus on some of the new
characters.
Now however it sounds as if they will all be appearing
in the trailer, at least according to the Latino Review, who managed to get a
detailed description of it.
It looks like Lupita N'Yongo's character has an
important flashback to tell Finn (John Boyega), and Rey (Daisy Ridley), which
might include a sad R2-D2 beep sound and some Padawans past.
- "I shall show you the story…" (Lupita's voice
over in the opening of the trailer)
- A shot of a forest probably Puzzlewood, with a large
castle type structure in it.
- "of who you seek…" (Lupita continues)
- A shot of a city in a tropical location that might
be where Finn and Rey find Lupita's character and hear a story about the object
(lightsaber) they brought her.
- "the one who taught me…" (Lupita continues)
- A shot of a cloaked Luke Skywalker standing atop a
mountain or hill on Skelling Michael Island.
- "I know why the weapon came to you" (Lupita
continues)
- A shot of a dark cave where we get to see a small
blueish alien (Lupita) with a CG face. Finn takes the lightsaber and turns it on.
IT'S GREEN!
- Behind Finn, Rey looks disturbed at the turn of
events.
- The trailer quick's off with a score done by John
Williams (not clear if it is a new piece of music or the traditional score).
- With the score on a crescendo, we see Han Solo
wearing a long brown duster and looking beyond the camera.
- A black Tie Fighter attacks the forest location
described earlier, which is rumored to be when Lupita's character stops telling
the story.
- In a POV shot, Kylo Ren approaches someone on the
ground. He's wearing a dark mask with silver accents (Darth Raven influenced).
The crossguard lighsaber is ignited.
- New shot of the black Tie Fighter, this time
attacking a city (maybe the one set in the tropical location)
- R2-D2 makes another sad beep, possibly because Luke
leaves the galactic politics in favor of exile.
- Shot of C-3PO and Princess Leia in what seems to be
some sort of command center.
- Lupita's character stops doing the voice over, which
changes to one more dark and harsh (Andy Serkis?).
- "Don't get too sentimental."
- Han looks at Leia and then walks away towards the
Falcon with Chewbacca (last time they see each other?).
- Back in the snowy forest from the teaser we get our
first peek at the climax of the film. It's a slow shot of Finn holding the
green saber and presumably protecting Rey from someone, maybe Rylo Ren.
- "You can do this kid, I believe in you." (Han
Solo says)
We still don't know when the trailer will be unveiled,
if during the Star Wars Celebration, which runs between April 16th-19th, or on May
1st when Avengers: Age of Ultron premieres.
