Daniel Brühl's has been on everyone's radar
ever since Good Bye Lenin! in 2003, however it was only with roles in The
Bourne Ultimatum, Inglorious Basterds, and more recently Rush that the actor
stepped up to the world stage.
Brühl is nearer and nearer of
making his debut in the tentpole game with Marvel's Captain America: Civil War
and predictably he is quite excited about it.
"It’s
huge for me," said the actor in an interview to the Wall Street Journal. "From
the world I am coming from and the movies I have done, this feels
big—megalomania and huge. I think I will be walking around for the first week
being amazed, like a little boy, to be in that universe. It is going to be
fantastic. It is something new. That is why it is a challenge. But it is
something I am very much looking forward to because this is entertainment on
the highest level."
Civil
War sounds like it will be a game changer for the Marvel Cinematic Universe,
but the actor's role in it has yet to officially announced by the studio,
however a casting call was leaked not too long ago and it seems like the actor
will play either Heinrich Zemo, or more likely his equally evil descendent
Helmut.
Directed
by Joe and Anthony Russo Captain America: Civil War premieres on May 6, 2016.
