After a few setbacks, things are finally moving
forward in the upcoming adaptation of the popular Assassin's Creed videogame. According
to Ubisoft's Chief Executive Officer Yves Guillemot, production on director
Justin Kurzel's Assassin's Creed adaptation has begun.
We still don't know plot, or cast, but we do know that
Michael Fassbender is set to play the lead, and that film is schedule to be
released on December 21, 2016.
The game centers around the use of a machine dubbed
the Animus, which allows its user, an Assassin to view the genetic
memories of his or her ancestors, and use it in the fight against the
Knights Templar.
Besides Assassin's Creed, Ubisoft has six other movies
in development. They are Far Cry, Rabbids, Watch Dogs, Splinter cell, and Ghost
Recon.
