A live-action
adaptation of 80's anime Robotech is something that has been in development
hell for a number of years, with the latest attempt being in 2013 with director
Nic Mathieu attached to direct. Things didn't pan out, and the project went
back to the drawing board to see what else could be done. According to Deadline,
the Warner Bros. based producers of the Hollywood Gang, Gianni Nunnari, and
Mark Canton are heading the development with 300 and G.I. Joe: The Rise of
Cobra screenwriter Michael Gordon set to write.
The site also adds
that director Andy Muschietti (Mama) is being eyed to helm the adaptation.
