With a new animated series and a new book coming out,
Spawn creator Todd McFarlane has taken to Facebook to tease fans with the
addition of a new Eisner Award winning writer to the team. He doesn't divulge
any names, but with it being revealed during the upcoming Image Comics Expo
fans won't have to wait much longer.
The yet unnamed writer will be teaming with artist
Jonboy Meyers.
"An EISNER AWARD WINNING WRITER coming to Spawn COMIC!!!...for those of you that
aren't into the comic book scene, an EISNER Award is the equivilant of an Oscar Awards for the Comic Book field! (Which means
this guy is a pretty good writer).
You heard it here, first. I'm confirming today that I
am adding a NEW writer (one that I had hoped to have had earlier...but
commitments didn't allow him to make the jump quite then) to the NEW Spawn
creative team. He's a writer that has worked for Marvel and DC Comics but I can't tell you who he is.... YET.
But, I'll be making that big reveal at the Image Comics Expo this Thursday at the big show we
are having in the Bay area.
I know he's going to bring big things to Spawn! As we
have been talking about his plans for the first year (and he gave me his ideas
for the second year too!) His first issue will be Spawn Resurrection #1 with
artist JONBOY MEYERS!!
Look for it in late February or early March...and remember, you'll be able to digitally download it also, as we are putting up the entire SPAWN library very soon!
