In a
recent interview, actress Hayley Atwell revealed that she would love to play
Peggy Carter for as long as she could.
"I,
for one, love playing her, so I would jump at the chance to reprise the role
again and again."
Atwell
then spoke about how far the show can go, and what they can explore like her
post Captain America family.
"Since
it’s set in 1946 in the first season, there’s a long way that we can go with
it. We can explore the ’50s, maybe the ’60s, and right up to the present day
where she’s in old age. And as we’ve seen in Captain America: The Winter Soldier,
we know that she’s had a family. She’s lived a life, and there are many
adventures that she can go on."
It's
still unclear if the Agent Carter miniseries is being considered for a second
season or if it will be a one-off, but Atwell says that she wouldn't mind doing
it for the rest of her career.
"So
it’s really up to Marvel, ABC and the fans to decide if that’s the story that
they want to continue telling. I certainly would jump at the chance to keep
doing it for the rest of my career.”
Marvel's
Agent Carter debuts with a two-episode premiere on January 6th on ABC.
