If we know next to nothing about J.J.
Abrams Star Wars: The Force Awakens then we really know nothing about Gareth
Edwards first spinoff of the galaxy far, far away. However, Making Star Wars
has some inside knowledge on the project and according to their sources Edwards
film will have, "more
on-location shooting than" J.J.
Abrams' Star Wars: The Force Awakens. It seems that crewmembers believe that one of the
possible destinations will be Mexico.
The site also revealed that the film
will be shooting under the codename "Los Alamos."
Finally they claim that in order to
save money, Disney has ordered artists to redecorate sets, props, etc…
"There are lots of cost cutting
measures like that in place for the first spin-off film, most of the reshoot
materials are to be saved when possible for this reason."
It makes sense that this kind of
recycling would occur. I mean why build one X-Wing, then destroy it, only to
have a new one built a few months later, and if there will sets that will
overlap in both film then why not use the same. Change the curtains, and the
furniture, and no one will know, at least until some top 10 list pops up about
it.
