That
we know of, six young actors were rumored to have been in the crosshairs of Fox
and director Bryan Singer to play a younger Scott Summers, aka Cyclops in the
upcoming X-Men: Apocalypse. Of the six, Kingsman: The Secret Service star Taron
Egerton already dismissed the rumors and revealed that he won't be playing the
character. Now another actor has step
forward to talk about it.
Last
night during the National Television Awards, actor Ben Hardy (Eastenders) was
pressed into talking about the rumors that he was being eyed to play a younger
version of Cyclops in X-Men: Apocalypse.
"Er,
sorry? Oh well, that's the rumor. Nothing guaranteed though."
So nothing
conclusive, however the BBC have already announced that Hardy will be leaving
the show at the end of his contract, but when will that be is still being kept
under wraps.
In addition to Hardy
and Egerton, Jamie Blackley (If I Stay), Ty
Sheridan (Mud), Charlie Rowe (Red Band Society), and Timothée Chalamat were also
reported as being eyed for the role.
