Since we found out that Tahiti actually
was an S.H.I.E.L.D. op designed to bring back from the land of the dead one of
the Avengers using something extracted from a blue alien, theories about the
origin of the alien began to pop-up, and at the forefront of all the
speculation was that the alien was a Kree. Now speaking to TV Guide, Agents of
S.H.I.E.L.D. executive producer Jeffrey Bell confirms fans suspicions about the
mysterious origins of the alien.
"Our people don't know anything
about the Kree or that there's a planet full of them," he tells the site. "What they do know is that
the strange carvings created by Coulson after he was injected with the Kree
serum are actually the map of a city, and they need to find that city before
Hydra does. But where is it? Here or on another
planet?"
Though Hydra has a clear advantage over
S.H.I.E.L.D., as they have more labor and decades of research, S.H.I.E.L.D. has
Skye, who unlike other people injected with the serum didn't go all obsessive over
drawing/carving/building abstract shapes that now we know are the blueprint of
an ancient city. This and the ending of last night's episode indicate that Skye
might not be entirely human or at least part of her. But we also have Raina,
who touched the obelisk and survive.
"You'll
find out that Skye and Raina have something in common — and it's not that
they're brunettes," Bennet says with a laugh. "Some of our überfans
think the two of them are aliens. Or maybe they're something else — something
different and special. It's all leading to a reveal that's mother-effing crazy."
What
do you think?
