The last time the
Highlander reboot was news was last year when Summit hired visual effects supervisor
Cedric Nicolas-Troyan to make his directorial debut with the property. Now
according to The Wrap, the studio is eyeing Tom Cruise for the mentor role that
Sean Connery played in 1986 film.
Cruise is still busy
riding on the outside of planes for Mission: Impossible 5, so unclear if the
actor is up for a smaller role in Highlander, but the actor's representative
said that Cruise is "far from talks", pointing out that "he is
offered tons of projects".
