This past Saturday The Tick
made headlines, when it was revealed that there were plans to bring back the
character to Amazon's online streaming service. At the time only one source
broke the news, but now The Wrap confirms that the star of the original show, Patrick Warburton, "is set
to reprise his role as "The Tick" in an Amazon pilot." They
also add that "Warburton worked out a deal with Sony Television, who have held the
rights since the show's 2001 cancellation, to bring back the beloved character
as an Amazon pilot."
The show, and comic book
creator Ben Edlund also confirmed the news, but it seems that it's still far
from being a done deal.
Yes for now suffice it to say the dream of a new live-action Tick is being pursued with vigor #bringbackTheTick

The original show only aired for nine
episodes on FOX, and despite not finding an audience at the time, it seems as
it has achieved somewhat of a cult status.
