Aside from Peter Parker other famous names within the pages of Marvel's Spider-Man comics
have worn the Venom symbiote over the years. Eddie Brock, Mac Gargan, and Flash
Thompson are perhaps the most famous names to ever be called Venom, so it isn't
surprising to hear that it's difficult to chose one to become the main character
in the upcoming Amazing Spider-Man spin-off.
In a recent
interview, director Alex Kurtzman talked about choosing which Venom alter ego
they will go for.
"I would not say it’s an
easy choice," he revealed. "I would say that there are quite a few things about Venom that are
interesting. Venom had several different iterations, and there are several
things that are very unique, interesting and specific. And so I think we all
want to make sure that we’re making the right choices for a character that’s so
beloved."
The project is still in its infancy, so it will be
awhile before we hear anything about which version of Venom will be brought to
the big screen.
"Yeah, before last Friday came
out, we started kind of roughing out a story. Ed Solomon’s going to be writing
it very soon. I can’t tell you too much, but I’m really excited about it."
