Action
star, Dwayne Johnson has been teasing the Shazam movie so much these past few
weeks, that when the official announcement does come it will be less of a
surprise and more of a confirmation.
In yet
another interview, Johnson revealed that he was going to announce Shazam at
this year's San Diego Comic-Con, but those pestering executives at both New
Line, and Warner Bros. made him not do it.
"My trip to Comic-Con
was a surprise, so I called personally to executives at New Line and Warner
Bros. to see if they would like to announce Shazam me there. Unfortunately, it
was not time yet, but the official announcement should happen soon."
The actor also reassures fans that the movie will
happen, especially now that they have a script.
"I am 100% sure that
the movie will happen We're talking about it since 2008, when I was offered the
role for the first time was just a matter of finding the right script, and it
finally happened now," Johnson
promised. "We have a writer who understood the story and brought an amazing
approach not only to Shazam, but the power of Black Adam as well."
The actor
"concluded by
suggesting that the film will seek a kind of balance between these two
antagonistic characters," and that "the film will be part of future adaptations of superheroes that DC should announce soon."
I wonder if we will see a Billy
Batson tease, or easter-egg in Batman v Superman?
Either way, it's believed that the
official press announcement will arrive later on this month, so fingers
crossed.
