Anthony Mackie On Possibly Becoming The Next Cap

While at the Fandomfest in Louisville, Kentucky, Anthony Mackie was asked about possibly taking over the Captain America role after either Chris Evans steps down, or something happens to the character.

“I don’t know. I mean I’m excited about it. I think if it goes that way in the movies that it would take a long time, because there’s so many evolutions before that. You know, I’m excited to see Sebastian play Cap. I think Sebastian’s a great actor. But I love seeing Chris Evans as Cap, so I feel like they can go any way they want. I’m enjoying my part beside Cap. I’m in no rush to be Cap.”

In a previous run of the comic book title, Bucky is the one that steps in and becomes Captain America, so logically if Evans does leave, Sebastian Stan is the one that will replace him, but in the current run, Steve Rogers no longer has the Super Soldier serum running through his veins, and Sam is the one that steps in, to become the next Captain America.
