One of
the staples of Marvel Studios is the shared universe between their
live-action films and their live-action tv series, but it looks like crossovers
and such will be put slightly to the side for the upcoming Daredevil series.
In a
recent interview Marvel Studios President, Kevin Feige said that Daredevil will
initially have his own universe, and if everything goes according to plan, then
he will start to have crossovers with the other Marvel shows and movies.
"They’re being very,
very smart about that. And approaching those shows the way we approach
movies, which is focus on what you’re working on first, and make
it as great as you can be at beginning, middle and end. And then look at if
they’re places it makes sense for some interweaving of continuity. But right now their goal, and they’re in production on
the Daredevil series, is to make the best incarnation of Daredevil that has
ever existed."
Charlie Cox, Rosario Dawson, Elden
Henson, and Vincent D'Onofrio star in the 13-episode series, showrunned by
Spartacus creator Steven S. DeKnight.
"Marvel’s Daredevil"
follows the journey of Matt Murdock, who was blinded as a young boy but imbued
with extraordinary senses, now fighting against injustice by day as a lawyer,
and by night as the super hero Daredevil in modern day Hell's Kitchen, New York
City.
