Nathan Fillion Won't Go Bark! Bark! In Guardians of the Galaxy

Following actor Nathan Fillion's comments at the St. Louis Comic Con, where he basically announced that he was going to appear in the upcoming Guardians of the Galaxy, fans went ballistic, and rumors started flying. From the absurd to the believable, we had him reprise his iconic role of Firefly's Captain Mal Reynolds, to playing Nova in the after credits scene, with the later being debunked by director James Gunn, who also confirmed that the actor was indeed in the movie, but in a small cameo.

This week I posted that Schmoes Know had a source claiming that Nathan Fillion was going to voice Cosmo, the psychic Soviet cosmonaut dog, and I'm sorry to say it's false. The actor himself tweeted that he isn't voicing Cosmo and that he's losing faith in the internet.

Now! I don't think that the guys over at Schmoes Know report things that they know are false, I mean, sometimes when a source comes out with a scoop, it's just something they overheard, or it's something that was in the original plan, but has since changed.

What character do you think Fillion is going to play? Just a alien in the background that as a line or two, or a "real" character?

Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy stars Chris Pratt, Dave Bautista, Zoe Saldana, Bradley Cooper, Michael Rooker, Ophelia Lovibond, Benicio Del Toro, Lee Pace, Djimon Honsou, Gregg Henry, Glenn Close, John C. Reilly, Peter Serafinowicz, Laura Haddock, and Sean Gunn.

Guardians of the Galaxy opens on July 31st in the UK, and on August 1st in the US.
