Just a few hours ago, the Latino
Review had the scoop that Item 47 and Marvel One-Shot: Agent Carter director
Louis D'Esposito was probably Marvel's only bet to replace Edgar Wright, who
had quit the previous week due to creative differences. Now, THR is
saying that directors Rawson Thurber, Adam McKay, and Ruben Fleisher are among
a group of directors that are meeting with the studio to replace Wright.
Rawson Thurber is better known
for last year's hit comedy We're The Millers'. Adam McKay is the director and co-writer
behind Anchorman 1 and 2, as well as Step Brothers. Ruben Fleisher has directed
Gangster Squad and fan favorite Zombieland.
Warm Bodies director Jonathan
Levine was also reported to be in the mix of directors, but a source close to
the director denied the he had been approached. Levine is currently prepping up
the Seth Rogen and Joseph Gordon-Levitt comedy Xmas, which is scheduled to
begin shooting in mid-August.
