In the last couple of
months Hugh Jackman as stated multiple times, that perhaps the time for him to
pass the claws to someone else was approaching, but now he's not so sure.
Speaking to IGN at
the Australian premiere, Jackman said that the property looked fresh after
seeing Days of Future Past, so perhaps he will continue as Wolverine as long as
the stories are good and the fans want him.
"At
one point, you're right, I said I was pretty sure (about leaving the role). But
I'm less sure as it goes along. Because after seeing this movie, the whole
thing feels fresher to me than ever. And during this movie...I don't want to
spoil anything, but it's kind of like a clean slate, so who knows where it's
going to go. As long as I have the passion for it, and the fans will have me."
To put it into
perspective Sean Connery only played the iconic 007 six times while Jackman as
played Wolverine seven, going on nine if the actor returns for the 2016 X-Men:
Apocalypse and the 2017 The Wolverine 3.
Do you want to see
Jackman return as Wolverine?
